    A US refinery ran billing, payables, and orders on AS/400 code written since the 1980s. Nobody had documented it, the people who wrote it had left, and the refinery couldn't stop.

  2. What we built

    We moved it one module at a time. Each new module ran beside the old one until the results matched, and web screens replaced the green screens.

  3. What changed

    Finance kept working through every switch, and the refinery's own team can now read and change the rules.
